Bing VS Google

Many Malaysians are so used to Google as their search engine. I’ve been loyal to Google for some years now however I find the search results seem getting monotonous and is only displaying results from same site. So I finally decided to do some quick research on who has been using my photos on the Internet.

Here’s the search string to find out which website that is using my photo on the Internet,

Here is the results from Google

Conclusion

Google managed to display 63,000+ results with Bing only 40+ results with the same search string.  Both search engines are able to show Shutterstock profile on the first column of the search results which is right.  From page 2 onwards, Bing is able to show much more variety of results from different sites.

Google has put too much priority on larger site. If I’m looking for my profile on shutterstock, I will only need one or two links to Shuttertock and then I’m able to browse the profile on Shutterstok.com.  Bing is able to mix good results from smaller sites and larger sites. I’m also able to find my works published that was previously unknown to me from European, Japanese and many smaller sites. Google will not list these sites at their results at all.  Although Google is able to find 63000 more results, every single search results from end of page 2 points to a single domain of Shutterstock.com which is particularly useless as 99.9999% of the results are from the same site.

So if you have been using Google for years, perhaps you should add a bit of variety to your search and Bing.com.

100mbps internet in Malaysia from TIME dot com

For ages TM or Telekom Malaysia has the monopoly of major Internet infrastructure in Malaysia. The HSBB project was also awarded to TM.  Malaysians have been living with crappy Internet and poor services due to this monopoly. Malaysia also has been ranked one of the slowest Internet speed country in the past. Luckily TM has been forced to open up the infrastructure for HSBB which has sparked competition among ISPs in Malaysia.

Bersih 3.0 Photos and my side of the story

Bersih 3.0 is very different from the previous street rally that I’ve attended to so far.  Everyone or someone’s friend seem to be going to Bersih 3.0. Honestly,  the authorities have tried their best not to demonize Bersih from the start. The previous Bersih 2.0 was deemed illegal and arrest was made even before the 709 event. So much threats were made , there were not much people who dared to attend Bersih 2.0

Samsung Galaxy W review

Update after purchase of Samsung Galaxy W

Reality of Samsung’s Android Phone ?

Samsung’s Galaxy Android smartphone has been a hype and pretty good alternative compared to Apple’s iphone. Now, Samsung has been endlessly churning out new models of smart phones every few months or so. These models seems to be more featuristic, but in reality what are the quality of these phones like ? I got myself a Samsung Galaxy W , and it malfunctioned only 2 days after usage ! If I bought a Nokia phone from a traditional phone store, I would have been give a 1 to 1 new replacement. However since I’m using a Samsung. I will have to wait days (I hope not weeks ) for my phone to be fixed.
