Kashmir valley ,Dal lake and Violence
Arrived morning at Srinagar. So this is the much talkabout place. Beautiful and violent.I find this place a bit overated for it’s scenery. Dal lake
is just another lake with a mountains. The parks look like much other parks. This place is possible famous as other
cities are quite a mess in India. Srinagar is heavily fortified. There are police and soldiers patrolling
every corners of the city. Heavy armored vehicle, fortified points , you name it.
At first i was planning to spend a few nights at Srinagar only later I found out that there will be
3 days riots and curfews starting the next day I arrive. In less than 24 hours I have to leave this place.
I woke up the next morning 5am trying to rush out of this place. There were no tuk tuk so I have to walk a few kilometers to the jeep location.
Its very crucial that I reach the jeep sharing point or else curfews and riots will start and I’ll be stuck in the middle of
a battle. Luckily I managed to get a tuk tuk after almost 40 minutes of walking with heavy luggage (winter clothing,summer clothing,tripod,70-200,17-55,cameras)
While reaching the departure point Lal Chowk, I can see the crowds that are rushing to get off the city while most of the city is empty.
I managed to get out from the city around 7am which is one hour from the curfew time. On the road out of the city , I can see troops and armored vehicle starting to storm
the city. Anti bomb squad and dogs are sniffing the areas. Every few minutes drive there will be troops patrolling
.I don’t really know what will happen there at least I managed to get out in time. The next destination will be Jammu or Dharamsala.
Update:I read from the papers that a few militants were killed a few days after I left that place.

Oh my goodness! an amazing article dude. Thank you However I’m experiencing subject with ur rss . Don’t know why Unable to subscribe to it. Is there anyone getting equivalent rss drawback? Anybody who knows kindly respond. Thnkx
