Cheapest dslr camera in Malaysia 2011

Here is the list of cheapest DSLRs price in Malaysia by brand. As manufacturers compete on the prices and features. We as the consumer benefited from these competitions. These DSLRs are great for those people want to get into photography as a startup hobby or being used  as a backup body. Prices are from official brand website so it may be cheaper when you get it directly from dealer especially when there are some kind of promotions.

Canon 1100D

Canon 1100D comes with typical dslr black and red color. Personally I think the red color looks like a character from Transformers. It comes with 9 auto focus points and 12.2MP Sensor with HD Video capabilities too

Nikon D3100

Retail Price: RM 2198 with 18-55 lens

This camera comes with 2 color choices as compared with 1100D as well. The LCD, megapixel sizes are definitely better than what Canon 1100D offers. But do remember that Nikon D3100 does not comes with a motor so you need to watch out when you purchase lens for upgrade.

Moneybookers Malaysia Withdraw Money how to?

moneybookers

Moneybookers has been one my favorite payment method from overseas.  Basically I prefer Moneybookers than paypal as the conversion rates are better and there is only a small amount of fees charged with for withdraw. The best thing about Moneybookers is that you can actually do a direct TT of money from Moneybookers to local bank account even in the absense of Moneybookers here.

How to receive money on Moneybookers ?

1 ) Ok , if you don’t have any moneybookers account. First you need to create a moneybookers account,  you may do it via this link https://www.moneybookers.com/app/?rid=3903626 , no worries the link is very safe ;)   .Please use your permanent email address as this be used to receive and transfer funds

2) Verify your account with credit cards, mailing address to your pin number and bank account

3) After you have verified your account you can start receiving and sending funds via your email address registered.

How to withdraw money to local Malaysian Bank Account

1) You need to get swift code for your banks. I would recommend CIMB as they only charges rm 10 for receiving money from TT. Some bank eg PBB charges up to rm 30 per transaction.

Please refer to this website for your bank swift code.

http://www.theswiftcodes.com/malaysia/

For other banks Please refer to

https://www2.swift.com

2) Go to your account -> Profile -> List of Banks account -> Manage , Add your country and swift code for your bank.

3) You can start sending funds to your local bank account on your withdraw menu , you need to verify your birthdate and select the bank to withdraw. There will be a 2.54 USD charge for each withdrawal. Do keep the TT statement slip the bank sends to you as there will be verification needed on Moneybookers side from time to time.

Pulau Lang Tengah, Terengganu

WYL_8770

Pulau lang Tengah has always been my wanted to visit list however I’ve been stucked with going to Perhentians for the past 4 times. Pulau Lang Tengah , or middle island possible due to it’s proximity between Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian is possibly one of the best Island in Peninsular Malaysia. If you go at the right time around March, visibility of the water can be 20 meters or more. Unlike Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Redang, Pulang Lang Tengah has considerable less tourist. Expect nothing but blue sky, crystal clear sea water, sun and solitude at Pulau Lang Tengah.

Waters are crystal clear with fishes and mostly dead corals. The visibility are so clear that you can see the layers of the waters from shore. Sand is smooth and white. I believe this would be a great destination for diving. The best part of Lang Tengah is you can have the entire beach by yourself while swimming and watching for sharks.

To get there, you can take public transport to/ from Kuala Terengganu then to Merang, Pulau Redang and Pulau Lang Tengah Jetty or I would always prefer a road trip through east coast states of Malaysia. Be at the jetty before 10am as most of the boats leave for islands around that time.

There are only a few resorts in Pulau Lang Tengah, to be safe most of these resorts has an office at Kuala Lumpur. You should book the package earlier during peak season from KL office. Some resorts does offer Monday(weekday) check in price provided if you book from KL office. Just ask.

Masjid Kristal, Crystal Mosque of Terengganu

masjid krystal 2

Masjid Kristal one possibly one of the best photography location at Terengganu. Located at Pulau Wan Wan, Taman Tamadun Islam, Kuala Tereggganu Malaysia. There are no entrance fees needed for Masjid Kristal. This mosque is overlooking Sungai Terengganu where it’s reflection can be observed. During the night this mosque will turn colorful with various colored lights coming from the mosque itself. You can also visit Taman Tamadun Islam to see replicas of great islamic civilization with an entrace fee.

Kuala Lumpur night photos hdr

The weather has been hot at Kuala Lumpur and once a while the sunset is awesome so we hit the city center of Kuala Lumpur do to some urban HDR shots. It turned out ok , but not that what I would be really proud of.

Sometimes once a while, you’ll get some purple lights when yellow lights from the highways, buildings mixed with the dawn lights.  It has been kind of a while since I’ve done HDR and slow shutter.  I think I will have to take the opportunity to shoot more since we don’t get these nice sunset everyday in Kuala Lumpur. Most of the shots are taken with single raw and merged with Photomatix.

Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia.
